The use of false documents to enter the European Union (EU) is illegal and can lead to serious consequences, including criminal prosecution and deportation. Even in the case of refugees resorting to such methods, this is only allowed in exceptional circumstances.

According to the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, refugees should not be penalized for illegal entry or stay if they come directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened and immediately present themselves to the authorities with an explanation of the reasons for their illegal entry or stay. However, this does not mean that the use of false documents is justified or permitted. States have the right to take measures to prevent irregular migration and secure their borders.

Upon arrival, you will have to prove that you were in real danger in the country from which you left. At first glance it seems easy to prove it, but you will need to hire a lawyer to support your arguments. Otherwise, you will be deported to the Russian Federation or a third country.

The EU has strict measures in place to detect and prevent the use of forged documents. For example, the Entry-Exit System (EES) is designed to record the entries and exits of third-country nationals and helps to identify persons attempting to enter the EU with forged documents.

Attempting to enter Europe using false documents involves many risks that can not only ruin your chance of asylum, but can also lead to serious legal consequences. For example, if you decide to use fake documents and arrive in Croatia, not only will it not make your situation any easier, but it will also create new problems.

Croatia, as a European Union country, is a party to the Dublin procedure. This means that if you successfully enter Croatia but then try to reach other EU countries such as Germany or France, your asylum application will be redirected back to Croatia. This country is considered your first point of entry into the EU, and it is the country that is obliged to process your case. However, in Croatia, the asylum process is often formal, and if you are suspected of using forged documents, your chances of a positive decision are virtually nil.

Even if you somehow manage to avoid returning to Croatia under the Dublin procedure and stay in another EU country, the use of false documents will sooner or later come to light. When considering your case at the stage of legalization or obtaining a more stable status, such as a residence permit or citizenship, the document check will be more thorough. Any detection of forgery will result in immediate annulment of the entire process, revocation of your refugee status and expulsion from the EU.

If you are found to have forged documents, you will not only face rejection of your asylum application, but also criminal prosecution for using forged documents. This is followed by deportation, in most cases to your country of citizenship, i.e. Russia. Moreover, information about your violation will be stored in EU databases, which will effectively close your path to legal migration in the future.

Using fake documents and trying to cross the border into Croatia or other EU countries by illegal means not only does not guarantee success, but also makes your situation much worse. Legal ways, although they require more time and effort, are the only reliable way to achieve stability and protection.
